First up “The Graves” came out on DVD Yesterday, part of the After dark HorrorFest:4 “8 films to die for”. Written and directed by Brian Pulido starring Tony Todd, Bill Mosley, Clare Grant, Jillian Murray and Randall Blythe of the badass metal band “Lamb of God”

I had a really fun Experience playing the Comic shop clerk in this flick and watching the process of film-making firsthand. Its a good old classic fun gruesome type horror flick with a twist so check it out…if anything you can just laugh at me sound like a tool (*ahem* Dave, Eric I’m looking at you.)

I only had a chance to get a few pics after filming was done for the night…

Clare and Jillian (not pictured) were very patient with me, and Brian very supportive.

Myself, Clare Grant and writer/director Brian Pulido.

Next up…

A good online pal and fellow artist Pat Carlucci is terminally ill with lymphoma. Pat Carlucci is an outstanding artist and an even better person. Words cannot describe how sad we are and how Much we want to help. Donations are being sent to Pat’s church for his care. Please donate.

EDIT

I just got the news that Pat passed away this morning surrounded by his loved ones, It greatly saddens me to hear this news because not only was Pat a spectacular artist just hitting his prime but a truly great person who inspired me and thousands of others just through the internet, let alone in person. I would still urge you to donate to help Pat’s family with final arrangements and the auctions will still go on to help as well. RIP Pat-man you will be greatly missed.

Well I’m In the home stretch on several different comic/sketch card Projects so I may be a little late on these updates…I know…this update is really late, sorry guys.

Another of my projects doesn’t involve art at all, My good friend Bill Bailey and I put together a Paranormal investigation group called Phoenix Paranormal. This past weekend we had the great opportunity to investigate Wickenburg’s Vulture mines, a very cool little ghost town in the Sonoran desert with a rather creepy history. Most of the old Vulture City still stands (barely) and the place was all ours for the night. For most in the group this was their first investigation and they were AWESOME. with only eight investigators we covered the more than 20 buildings and structures pretty good, After we compile our footage and properly review it, we’ll have it all online. so If you’d like more details, info or have any questions pertaining to things of the paranormal sort please visit the PHOENIX PARANORMAL website.

meanwhile i have tons and tons of art to produce and my biggest vice is having something on the TV while i work, keeps me company i guess. my favorites are old school TV shows. Last time i was going on about the Dukes of Hazzard, i went through the first two seasons quick and then I found the 90′s Live action Flash show on sale…$15 that’s a steal, been eyeballing this one for a while but just wasn’t prepared to spend $40 or more for it. I’m already on the lookout for new sets, Darkwing Duck and G.I. Joe cartoons sound good, reliving my childhood seems to keep me inspired.

A quick little peek at something I’m cooking up, My good friend Chris Summers is going to hit this with his magic colors when I’m done.

Until next Time my friends.

-BEN OUT!

  2. HAHA hey bud, Unfortunately Publishers wont touch Superheroes with a ten foot pole unless you have a blockbuster book under your belt first so SWP is on the backburner. You just may see some familiar characters in Tin Star Tex though ;) How are you doing man?
