Happy Thanksgiving!
Don’t know about you guys but I do love this time of year, food, family, food, festive decorations, food, good friends, goofy parades oh and did I mention food? Don’t tell her I said this but my wife can only cook good during the holidays. She’s one of those cooks that are just too lazy to go get an ingredient they don’t have for a recipe so they just substitute it with crazy things they have at hand ….seriously who makes spaghetti with potatoes? And chicken Marsala with PBR instead of Marsala…actually that one wasn’t half bad. Anyway the pressure is on with holiday meals so she cooks with the actual called for ingredients and WOW its some good stuff. Turkey, sides, pies and various assortments of sweet sweet baked goods….sigh….its fat-guy heaven.
I used to manage retail stores for years and always worked through the holiday season so I missed most of the festivities, I thought being a full time artist would give me that time back, but turns out it’s always the busiest time of year for me. Oh well at least I’m at home working.
Last weekend’s “Comic Create” event sponsored by the Phoenix Comicon was the awesome! I sketched a few Ironman 2 cards, some free sketches for people who attended and walked some teachers through the process of making Comics. Really fun event and I got to meet some more cool people involved in the Phoenix Comicon, Katie, Anabel you ladies are made of pure Win!
Atomic Comics graciously gave me the “Radiation Interrogation” treatment this week, little intimidating having my interview alongside heavyweights like Brian Michael Bendis, Rick Remender and Ed Brubaker. But Hey I had fun and I get to talk “Tin Star Tex”, sketch cards and the Wolverine 100 project. And at the Mesa Atomic Comics December 12th I will be on hand with a cadre of artists signing copies of the Wolverine 100 project books check it…
Okay guys have a great turkey day, I’ll be back soon with more art!
-BEN OUT!
